"Good sometimes, frustrating other times"
I’ve used rev a handful of times, i feel like they could do a better job keeping the quality consistent. Some transcripts came back solid, but others had so many mistakes that I ended up spending way too much time fixing them myself. For what they charge, I expected rev to take more responsibility for making sure the results are reliable.
"I’ll admit, it’s not the cheapest..."
I’ll admit, it’s not the cheapest option out there, but I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate it is. It’s saved me a good amount of time, so for me, it ended up being worth the money...
"Way faster than I expected"
I needed a transcript done urgently and just went for rev in a bit of a panic, like, “Okay, let’s try this and hope for the best.”
I uploaded the file at night, and before I even had time to properly stress about it, the transcript was back way sooner than I expected.
It was clean enough for what I needed and made the whole thing way less of a headache. I’d definitely use them again if I’m in a rush.

"Speaker labels were rough"
For some reason, the transcript kept mixing up who was talking. The words were mostly there, but the speaker labels were off a lot, which made it kind of annoying to follow.

"Works fine when I just need clear audio"
For what I need, it’s decent enough. If one person is talking, I can usually hear everything clearly, so I’m not too bothered. But when people start talking over each other, it gets kind of messy and hard for me to follow. It’s okay overall, just not great in busier conversations.

"Way harder than it should be"
This took me way too long to figure out. It’s kind of ridiculous how unintuitive it is for something that should be simple to use.

"Made the timestamps way harder than they needed to be"
I used Rev for a transcript and paid for the timestamp option, thinking it would save me time. But the timestamps were all over the place. Some were a few seconds off, and others didn’t really seem to match the audio at all. It should’ve been a simple add-on, but I ended up having to go through and fix everything myself, which was exactly what I was trying to avoid. it made a simple task more annoying and didn’t feel worth paying extra for

"Pretty accurate captions, depending on the audio"
I used Rev to caption a handful of short video clips, and overall I was happy with it. For the clips with clear audio, the captions were really solid and the timing looked good. There were a couple of small errors with names, and one section with background noise came out a little weird, so I still had to review and clean things up. But for my use, it saved me a lot of time compared to doing everything from scratch.

"I had a refund dispute and it sorta..."
I had a refund dispute and it sorta went nowhere. I kept reaching out to support, but it felt like they were dodging my questions instead of actually helping.

"I was in a tired..."
I was in a tired mood when I first tried it, so I appreciated that the editor was easy to figure out. It works well for the most part, though it does feel a little clunky here and there.

"Pretty reliable most of the time"
It’s been good enough for me overall, but there are literally times when delays pop up out of nowhere. Not a huge deal every time, just something to be aware of.

"Upload was simple, but the ordering part felt confusing"
Uploading my file was easy, honestly. It went through without much hassle, kind of like uploading a photo to email or adding a document to a form or attaching something in a chat. But once I got to the ordering part, it felt a little messy. I wasn’t always sure what step I was on, what I had already picked, or what I needed to do next, like choosing options, checking details, confirming the order, that kind of thing. The upload itself was fine, but the rest could be a bit smoother.

"I tried it with one of my recordings..."
I tried it with one of my recordings, and it really seemed to struggle with the accents and the messier parts of the audio. To be fair, I only tested it on that file, so I can’t say for sure how it performs in every situation, but for what I needed, it wasn’t really worth it.

"I had a small problem where one of..."
I had a small problem where one of my files was not showing the correct status, so I reached out to support. They got back to me quickly and fixed it without making me go through a bunch of extra messages. The site was a little confusing at first, so it was not totally perfect, but the support team was friendly and helpful. Overall, I had a good experience.

"Exports just work, really work"
Exporting has been easy, easy. It connects with my usual tools without me having to mess around much, which is exactly what I wanted

"Transcript had way too many mistakes"
I tried Rev and, the transcript was far off in a lot of places. Like, names were wrong, some sentences didn’t even make sense, and I ended up having to fix almost everything myself. So yeah, if the accuracy is going to be that rough, it doesn’t really feel worth paying for

"Formatting was kind of all over the place"
I paid for transcripts, but the formatting was different from one file to the next, which made cleaning them up annoying. I ended up spending about as much time fixing things as I hoped to save, so it just wasn’t worth the hassle for me

"Great transcript, but clearer instructions would help"
I used Rev for a couple of interview recordings and chose the human transcription option. The transcript came back really clean, the speaker labels were accurate, and I barely had to make any edits. One name was spelled wrong, but that’s understandable. I do wish the instructions or guidance up front were a little clearer, especially around how to submit names or context for the recording. Overall though, I’m happy with the result and would use it again.
